Frequently Asked Questions

Below are some frequently asked questions.

Please email me at alltogetheroutdoorsmd@gmail.com with any additional questions.

ALL children and families are welcome at All Together Outdoors regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, ability, class, or any other factor. I actively work to dismantle systems of oppression within myself, my family, and my community.

All Together Outdoors has a zero tolerance bullying policy. If I hear language or observe behavior that goes against our community values of inclusion, I will call that person in (meaning I will offer them a reframe and an opportunity to correct and repair if necessary). If the language or behavior persists and the person/family shows no signs of willingness to learn or change, I will ask that family to excuse themselves from the remainder of the season.

If I make any misstep or micro-aggression, please let me know and I will do the work to learn, repair, and take action to avoid that error in the future. If you are an ally of a particular group, please also point out any language, behavior, or policy that you believe might be a barrier to that group’s participation in All Together Outdoors. If you feel more comfortable, please email me with your concerns at alltogetheroutdoorsmd@gmail.com.

We gather approximately 100 feet into the park. There is street parking on asphalt in front of 601 Bennington Lane. There is a paved path that leads to a bridge on the right as you face Sligo Creek. Once you go over the bridge, there is a sloping entrance into the park. Our meeting place is about 100 feet away via grass and dirt paths. Benches and picnic table seating are available in some areas of the park including near our play areas.

All Together Outdoors is designed for children ages 18 months to 8 years old. Exceptions will be made for children with disabilities and sensory needs who would benefit from the curriculum. Please reach out to discuss this further so I can be sure to meet your child’s needs.

Siblings under 12 months of age may join at no cost. Siblings over one year old must enroll in the class at a 25% sibling discount.

If a refund is requested BEFORE the season of classes begins, families can receive a full refund or credit towards a future season. If a refund is requested AFTER the season of classes begins, families can receive a refund for half of the value of the remaining sessions in the season.

At this time, I do not offer credits or refunds for classes that families miss.

Decisions about whether it is safe to hold class are determined using local weather guidance. I will update families at least 90 minutes prior to class by email and text message if conditions are unsafe. I will offer a makeup session for weather cancellations.

I will share photos with the families enrolled in a given class to reflect on the learning and play that happens each week. Please let me know if you would not like your child(ren) to appear in any photos.

Before using any photo for marketing purposes, I will reach out directly to the guardian of the child(ren) in the photo and secure their written permission.

Each “explorer” (child) is accompanied by a “guide” (guardian or caregiver). I support guides and do all I reasonably can to provide a learning environment that allows for safe risk-taking. I also model how to use a lightest-touch approach to resolving conflicts. I use sports-casting to help explorers and guides problem-solve when tricky situations arise. I bring a First Aid Kit to class, and guides can use it if needed.

In line with my vision to make outdoor education and programs more accessible to all families, I gladly offer sliding scale pricing. Please contact me directly to discuss payment plans or alternate pricing.
