Community Work
Part of All Together Outdoor’s vision is to make the outdoors and outdoor education more accessible to all, especially marginalized communities. For that reason, they intentionally chose a park with a wheelchair-accessible entrance and picnic tables available for families that need those accommodations. All Together Outdoors was also able to provide free classes to 17 local families through a Judy Center Early Learning Hub funded by the Maryland State Department of Education.
In 2023 and 2024, they offered Queer Storytime and Rock Painting at local PRIDE events. They also offered free seasonal story times and nature crafts at People’s Book in Takoma Park. In 2024, they joined a collective of local businesses, including Happy Little Art Studio (another queer-owned business), offering services to young families in the area. Through that collective, All Together Outdoors has been able to offer additional free events to families on a seasonal basis.
